The article examines atypical employment relationships through labour-law, economic, sociological, and public-policy perspectives. It evaluates Hungarian regulation concerning job sharing, multiple employers, self-employment, simplified employment, domestic work, and school cooperatives, with particular attention to vulnerable workers.

It argues that maternity protection and childcare benefits may reinforce gender stereotypes unless parental leave and care responsibilities are distributed more equally between women and men.
