Title: Overview of the Changes in the New Czech Civil Code Concerning the Deprivation of Legal Capacity

Abstract: The article examines reforms introduced by the 2012 Czech Civil Code concerning the restriction of legal capacity and the protection of persons with mental disabilities. It contrasts the new individualized and rights-based framework with earlier socialist regulation and analyses relevant Czech constitutional and administrative case law.
