Title: Changes of the Maritime Carrier's Liablility Int Historical Aspects

Abstract: The article traces the historical development of maritime carriers’ liability and compares the principal international regimes governing carriage of goods by sea. It evaluates their relationship with Hungarian private law and proposes greater harmonisation of liability rules across transport sectors.
