Title: Changes of the Hungarian Local Government System: Democracy, Local Public Affairs and Local Government

Abstract: The article examines the transformation of Hungary’s local-government system, focusing on local democracy, municipal autonomy, elections, administrative supervision, and the redistribution of public functions. It argues that the reforms strengthened central influence while creating practical and legal difficulties in local decision-making, financing, and public-service provision.
